The following codes are used instead of the credit card number:
1 – To simulate an approved transaction
2 – To simulate a rejected transaction
3 – To simulate a gateway error
CVV test number: Any three-digit number sequence
Expiration date: Any expiration date in the future
It is important that you reset your payment method from “Bogus Gateway” back to the correct payment method you have selected. Otherwise, you may lose potential real orders because it is not a real payment provider.
9. Step: Complete a test order
Make sure that you have equipped your shop with the correct payment provider again. Now, instead of a customer, you can place an order yourself – for testing purposes, of course. Enter your payment details and complete the order.
Cancel this order immediately after completing it. This happens in your account overview. This trial order is free of charge as long as it is cancelled quickly enough. Otherwise, the transaction fees will be found on your Shopify invoice.
10. Step: Happy selling!
