Cleaning the bathroom is a given. You do it regularly, but you may still notice some dirt, mildew, or stain that would not go away. You can do things to get rid of these stubborn substances and make your bathroom squeaky clean. It might surprise you, but some of them require simple items that you may already have at home.
Clean your shower enclosure
Having a walk-in shower is an efficient way to separate the shower area from the rest of the bathroom to keep the latter dry. However, soap scum and water may stain the glass over time. You may use glass cleaning solutions to remove the stains, but if you notice that the glass is still not back to its old vibrancy, there are other things that you can try. Use vinegar or baking soda with a lint-free cloth to effectively clean the glass. Finishing it with shaving cream will also prevent it from fogging. You can apply the same method for other glasses like mirrors.
Remove mildew in your shower curtain
Mildew grows due to moisture, and since your bathroom is moist, it’s not surprising that you will see that, especially in your shower curtain. There are various mixtures that you can make to get rid of that. Combine salt and vinegar to make a paste, which you will apply to the affected area. Leave for a couple of hours to dry, and clean using a damp cloth after. A mixture of a pint of bleach and two tablespoons of dishwashing liquid will also do the trick. Spray it on the curtain, and it will solve the concern. To prevent mildew from appearing, combine water and salt and soak the shower curtain before hanging.
Make toilet cleaning hassle-free
One of the areas that are not fun to clean is the toilet. Surprisingly, your mouthwash is not just for your oral hygiene, but for cleaning too. Pour ¼ cup into the bowl and leave for about half an hour before scrubbing. A can of cola will also do the job.
Eliminate soap scum and grime
Soap scum and grime may accumulate over time on the floor and wall of your bathroom. Mix two cups of warm water, half a cup of ammonia, and three tablespoons of baking soda. Use a sponge or a clean rag to wipe the mixture on the problem areas. Rinse after applying, and it should make your bathroom clean again.
Clean the showerhead
Minerals can build up in the showerhead, causing it to clog. Soaking it in vinegar will unclog it. Denture tablets are also effective for unclogging showerheads. Dissolve five tablets in water and soak the showerhead. If you cannot remove the showerhead, put the tablet mixture or vinegar in plastic and tie it on the showerhead to soak. Leave it overnight for the best result.
A clean bathroom is more comfortable and eye-catching, and it’s also good for the health. Maintain its cleanliness with the tips given above. Also, put things back in their proper place after every use to keep it clutter-free and organised.
